CRITICS SLAM MATT LAUER ON TWITTER FOR LAST NIGHT'S ONE ON ONE INTERVIEWS WITH CLINTON AND TRUMP!

On Wednesday night, the “Today” show host, Matt Lauer moderated the primetime, NBC News “Commander-in-Chief Forum” conducting two separate thirty-minute interviews, first with Hillary Clinton and second with Donald Trump.  Clinton lost in the coin toss so Trump made her go first.

Several media critics ripped into Lauer’s line of questioning and even his overall behavior, during the primetime NBC News forum via Twitter.

Lauer was first criticized for his choice to question Clinton about the private email server issue.  This discussion lasted 10 minutes, which caused him to later shorten the conversation on ISIS.  When an audience member asked Clinton to explain her plans to defeat ISIS, Lauer interrupted and said, “As briefly as you can.”  Political commentator Norman Ornstein tweeted, “It is amazing. Lauer interrupted Clinton's answers repeatedly to move on. Not once for Trump. Tough to be a woman running for President.”

Lauer was also criticized for his questions directed at Trump.  Lauer asked Trump his opinion about the war in Iraq, to which Trump responded, “I was totally against the war in Iraq.”  But earlier, Clinton had referenced an interview Trump previously had with Howard Stern in which Trump said he supported the war.  Ezra Klein, Founder of Vox.com, tweeted, “It’s not a great idea, in general, for journalists to let politicians get away with bald-faced, on-camera lies."

Former aide to President Obama, Tommy Vietor, tweeted, “How in the hell does Lauer not factcheck Trump lying about Iraq? This is embarrassingly bad.”

Many other media critics took to Twitter to share their outrage and dislike for Lauer’s performance.

Former President Obama speechwriter, Jon Favreau tweeted, “I don't blame Lauer for asking the email question. But it's ABSURD that he started off with Trump, ‘Why should you be Commander-in-Chief?’”

New York Magazine columnist, Jonathan Chait tweeted, “Trump lies about opposing Iraq war. Lauer lets it go. No follow up. Unreal.”

Will Saletan, a writer at Slate tweeted “Lauer has done great interviews. But that's one of the weakest, least incisive performances I've seen from a presidential forum moderator.”

New York Times columnist, Nicholas Kristof, summed up the general consensus in his tweet, “This #NBCNewsForum feels like an embarrassment to journalism. It's about soundbites, not serious discussion of foreign policy.”

SIMON COWELL PREDICTS GRACE IS, “THE NEXT TAYLOR SWIFT!”

Grace VanderWaal AGT Pre-Audition

Earlier this week, a stunned 12-year-old girl from Seffren NY, Grace VanderWaal, took a deep breath and slowly walked onto the stage for her big moment to wow the judges; Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Mel B and Howie Mandel on NBC's 11th season of, America’s Got Talent.  VanderWaal was sporting a blunt bob, bright yellow jeans with a classic ukulele wrapped around her back.

VanderWaal, appeared to be a typical cute, bit shy, young lady but, no-one would have guessed she was about to steal the show!

Once the Judges started to question VanderWaal, they were the ones who were shocked. VanderWaal portrayed an air of maturity and poise about her that was well beyond her twelve years of life.

Just before VanderWaal performed live, Cowell asked, “Do you believe that you can win?” VanderWaal replied, “I mean; miracles can happen. So, possibly!”  As soon as Grace started to sing and strum her ukulele the crowd was in awe.

(WATCH THE PERFORMANCE HERE)

Before VanderWaal finished the memorable audition the audience was on their feet with a standing ovation. Mandel had a huge smile on his face and told Grace, “You are a living, beautiful, walking miracle. I think the world is gonna your name.”  Then suddenly, Mandel hit the coveted golden buzzer, which took VanderWaal straight through to the “Live Shows.”  As VanderWaal stood their in shock she was showered with gold confetti and an adoring crowd. Cowell went on to tell VanderWaal she was “The Next Taylor Swift.”  Colin may not be far off!  At Grace’s age, Swift had just started to write her own songs and at 16 she released her debut album. VanderWaal just may be following in Taylor’s footsteps!

Here are 5 Reasons why Grace VanderWaal may be the next Taylor Swift...

1) BOTH TAYLOR AND VANDERWAAL WRITE AND PERFORM ORIGINAL MUSIC!

2) VANDERWAAL RESEMBLES A MINI, SWIFT!

3) BOTH TAYLOR AND VANDERWAAL ROCK THE GRANNY CHIC STYLE!

4) BOTH ARTISTS PLAY THE UKULELE!

5) BOTH ARTISTS CONNECT WITH FANS!

Grace is an overnight internet sensation! Just after her AGT Audition aired, VanderWaal’s YouTube channel jumped to 42k subscribers.  Vanderwaal's Twitter account gained 25k followers in the past few days and her Instagram account is almost 50k followers!  Even Rolling Stone contacted Ms. Vanderwaal for an exclusive interview!

Post AGT performance, Mandel told Grace, "I think we found the biggest star in America’s Got Talent history."  NBC posted Grace's AGT audition and the video has already received more than 2 million views!

THE WANNA SHOW will watch the AGT live finals to see if VanderWaal can follow up and win it all!  Will you be watching?
